Trip Shannon is the Chief Development Officer of Hudson Headwaters Health Network. He is a Graduate of Lehigh University in Economics and Finance with a Masters in Health and Hospital Administration form Xavier University. Trip has worked in the health care industry for a total of 36 years – The first 17 years with hospitals and health systems and the last 19 with Hudson Headwaters Health Network in Queensbury, New York.
During his time at Hudson Headwaters, he has worked with founding CEO John Rugge, M.D. in devising a strategic growth plan to meet the primary care needs of a large rural area. When Trip first started working at the Network in January of 2000, they served about 26,000 patients through 7 sites with 175 employees, and the 2018 UDS report indicates 18 sites serving 84,000+ patients over 5,600 square miles. Trip has been instrumental in the Hudson Headwaters’ incredible growth and has largely focused on outreach, policy, government relations and grants management in supporting the growth of the organization. The Network is a recognized leader in rural health, care management programs, 340B, and collaborative partnerships.
Trip’s daily motivation stems from his passion to identify and address needs in his community and working with such a great Board and team at Hudson Headwaters. He is also grateful to work with so many other collaborative partners and organizations such as the policy team at NACHC and CHCANYS. Trip has been married for 34 years to a nurse practitioner and is the proud father of three grown children.
