05 Feb Meet Susan Burton, NACHC’s new National Advocacy Director
We are thrilled to announce that a new National Advocacy Director has joined the NACHC team!
Susan Burton joined NACHC at the end of January, after 18 years working for The General Board of Church and Society – the public policy and advocacy agency of The United Methodist Church. Susan equipped and mobilized people of faith to stand up for the health, safety and rights of women and girls around the world. Formed by faith and generations of family dedicated to public service, Susan is excited to join NACHC to support the mission and rich legacy of Community Health Centers.
Susan grew up in North Carolina and moved to Washington, DC after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with an undergraduate degree in Biology. After coordinating educational initiatives on college campuses and interfaith communities, Susan completed a graduate degree in Counseling and Personnel Service at the University of Maryland in College Park.
Susan loves being a mother of two teenagers. She enjoys attending their jazz concerts, soccer games, basketball games, swim meets and Girl Scout events. Susan’s goal is to consistently work toward a world where all of our children can thrive.
